A vacancy exists at The Grand Bahama Utility Company, Limited for one (1) Wellfield Officer.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- BSc in Environmental Studies, Hydrogeology, Marine Science or related fields.
- Five (5) years experience in an environmental monitoring role.
- Three (3) years utility environmental experience preferred.
- Knowledge of water resource regulations and safety procedures.
- Experience with water monitoring devices and software is an advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor daily production and performance of wellfields.
- Record and report operational data, including water abstraction volumes and equipment status.
- Conduct routine inspections of wellfield to identify potential threats, changes or environmental impacts as it relates to groundwater.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and water authority regulations.
- Participate in wellfield development and expansion planning as needed.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies as required.
- Responsible for monthly and quarterly water sampling and quality reports.
- Liaise with NGO’s and academia on all water quality, environmental and aquifer recovery and protection projects.
- Responsible for repository and digitization of all water data documentations, including but not limited to studies, surveys and papers.
- Responsible for liaising with water operators on the monitoring of water quality and trending of results.
- Responsible for analyzing results to prepare recommendations for foreword looking Strat plans for wellfield investments.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics technology or related area.
- Five (5) years experience as an electrical technician.
- Three (3) years experience in water/electric utility.
- Three (3) years with Three Phase Electrical preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Knowledge of electrical application for high and low voltage electric system.

- Skilled in the installation, repair and maintenance of all types of water utility electrical system equipment and components.
- Knowledge of configuring variable frequency drives (VFD) for use in automatic process control applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Repairing and/or installing split-case centrifugal pumps, couplings, valves and electric motors.

- Locating underground leaks using Permalog units, leak correlators, electronic sounding instruments and recorders.
- Cleaning, repairing, rebuilding and testing displacement and turbine water meters.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Maintain internal control policies, guidelines and procedures for financial activities such as accounting, accruals, expense management and cash management in accordance with IAS.
- Preparation of monthly financial statements and other financial reports.
- Preparation of cash flows, budgets and other forecasting reports.
- Protect organization's values by keeping information confidential.
- Assist in executing adequate financial controls to support the integrity of the accounting system and safeguard the company's assets.
- Preparation of draft audited financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Assists with overseeing department personnel in the absence of the Assistant Group Financial Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- CPA or similar accounting designation.
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in accounting.
