Retail leader, John Bull, officially opened its newest store in the Port Lucaya Marketplace (PLM). On hand to commemorate the momentous event were government officials, John Bull representatives, members of the local business community and other well-wishers.
In his address during the official events, Ian Rolle, President, The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited (GBPA) extended congratulations to John Bull. "Congratulations for over 80 years of world renowned luxury, generosity to the community and service excellence," Rolle stated.

After capturing the Miss Bahamas title in May of this year, Braneka Bassett is just hours away from competing in the Miss Universe pageant, scheduled for this coming Monday, 23rd August, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
As the native Grand Bahamian beauty prepares to represent her island and nation in the coveted competition set to be broadcast worldwide, she carries the support of an entire country, The Bahamas, who hosted the prestigious Miss Universe pageant last year.
The Miss Bahamas Organization (MBO) is doing its best to ensure that Miss Bassett has all that she needs to represent her country in a manner befitting a queen. Lending their support is The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited (GBPA), a major sponsor of many of the events held last year, on Grand Bahama, that were affiliated with the Miss Universe pageant.

Summer's end is just days away and the kids on Grand Bahama Island have spent their time attending summer camps, swimming and simply enjoying the long days outside. With all this fun to be had, parents are still baffled that many kids use the word "boring" when asked to describe their summer. With the new school year approaching, the team at the Sir Charles Hayward Children's Library joined forces with the Community Relations Department of The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited (GBPA) to develop an exciting literacy program. On Saturday, 31st July, the library's first Book Mobile was launched, pushing its primary focus to ‘Create Leaders by Developing Readers'.

GBPA EMPLOYEE GROUP FORMED TO ASSIST THE COMMUNITY |

Employees of The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited (GBPA) have launched a new organization, ‘GBPA Volunteers', to better the lives of the Grand Bahama community.
According to newly elected president, Kendra Clarke, the group's formation was the brainchild of GBPA-President, Ian Rolle. "GBPA Volunteers is an organization, envisioned by our President, as a means of giving back to the community. Its sole purpose is to cultivate corporate social responsibility in the form of employee volunteer projects," explained Clarke.
While participating in the election process, GBPA-President, Ian Rolle expressed his excitement regarding the project. "I think this is great! I shared the vision for this organization with our employees and they ran with it. The staff is excited and they've already begun to share ideas on the types of community projects they want to see happen.....their turnout and support of this new organization speaks volumes that GBPA and its staff are committed to the communities of Grand Bahama".
