Home City Services
The City Services Department is a quasi-government body responsible for the issuance of Building and Signage Permits as well as the enforcement of the Freeport Building and Sanitary Code Including Subdivision and Town Planning Regulations.

The purpose of the City Services is to provide technical support to 230 square miles of property into a functional City by virtue of protecting the public and the environment from unauthorized development.

The City Services functions are carried out by five (5) groups. The following is a summary of the responsibilities of each group:-

 

Building

Responsible for Issuance of Building Permits Issuance of Occupancy Certificates Building Code Compliance (Safety and Enforcement) Contractor Certification.

The Planning Unit is charged with the responsibility of ensuring the orderly and progressive development of land in Freeport, it is also responsible for zoning and land utilization, functionality and appearance, including all horizontal construction.

Responsible for: Maintenance (Upkeep) of GBPA owned public spaces and management of Public Hotline for GBPA Services Management of Port Group hurricane plan road and infrastructural maintenance, rehabilitation and reconstruction.
